Missing YET again

Posted in Random on September 22nd, 2006

What? it’s been almost a month since my last entry? Hahah, just been feeling very lazy to blog about anything since nothing special happened for the past 1 month. Maybe it’s about time i update at least 1 post before i go missing again? =P

First things first, my application for Kangan Batman has been accepted but they’re only giving me the July ‘07 intake which means i have another 10 months to bum around here >_< I really gotta find a job or something =\ I still don’t know if this is good or bad cause of the 1 year plus bumming around not doing anything might make me even lazier than i already am -_-”

Secondly, the few of us have been hanging out at the pink shop outside the Sunway College side entrance for the past 2 weeks. We’ll be there every single day for lunch (except Thursdays) with the few of them. We would reach there at around 1pm+ and have our lunch, then think of something to do which normally has something to do with modding cars -_-” and then go back around 4pm+ before the jam starts or at 7pm+ depending on the current day’s plans. There’s quite a number of food being served there and the food doesn’t taste too bad too, that’s one of the reasons why we’re there and second? because it’s outside Sunway College =P

This 2 weeks gonna be a very happening week for us, I was at Laundry bar on Wednesday for some KLue mag event. Will be going back there again cause it’s Pei Shan’s bday party thingy but it doesn’t feel like it’s her party for some obvious reasons =\ Tomorrow we’ll be going to Frankie’s bday BBQ in USJ with the whole Pro-Hatch gang. Then next Thursday, we’ll be at The Loft, Zouk cause DJ Van will be having his Sessions cum bday bash there (even Pinkpau is coming =D)

Well well, that’ll be my updates for the month =P We’ll see when i’ll update again yah? hahahah. Since WCG ended almost 1 month ago, tonight will be the appreciation dinner at Outback Steakhouse in LowYat. Which also means we’ll be getting our pay tonight ! Yaay, i’ll finally have money to buy my wastegate, bwahhahaha =P Better stop now, tata ! =D

World Cyber Games 2006 Malaysia Championship

Posted in Random on September 1st, 2006

This year i decided to be part of the WCG crew at the very last minute again =P At first, i wanted to be a CS marshal but due to something happening in between then i actually decided not to participate anymore. But my other friend who got appointed to be head marshal for Warcraft 3 asked me for help cause he needed more marshals for the game.

I decided a day later and then the organizers tell me that the slots for Warcraft 3 is full and instead asked me to be a marshal for FIFA ‘06. I promptly said yes cause i don’t know why i wanted to work in WCG again this year. =P And off i went to the office to fill in my details on the form etc. etc.

Well, this year is different from the previous, cause we have to work from Wednesday till Sunday while last year i worked from Thursday till Sunday. Had to set up all the coms in Wednesday itself including laying out the network cables and all. It was damn crazy i tell you, but nevertheless, it was fun =P.

LCD monitors anyone? =P

It isn’t easy carrying more than 400+ pcs (monitors+casings) from the store room to the gaming area. Yes, we have trolleys but no matter what we still have to carry them into the gaming area, unpack them, and then put them onto the table -_-” Not to forget, the keyboards and mice too. Crazy man.

I’m quite suprised at how fast we all got everything up though. Last year, they took 3 days to set most of the things up, but this year, we all did it in a day, and we didnt really rush it through. Just went at our own pace and played around too.

On Thursday, we still had to settle some minor glitches on the computers though especially regarding the network settings and some game bugs here and there. By 3pm on Thursday, we were all ready for the gamers to test the PCs out.

My very own island =P

The whole event went smoothly with just some minor things as usual. There’re bound to be little things going wrong in every event right? Heheh, but all in all, as the days pass by, it gets more and more fun. The whole of Friday and the first half of Saturday was quite tiring though. We have about 96 players for FIFA alone and 6 people in every group. Every top player from every group will advance to the Top 16 play-offs which will be on Saturday. Even having 4 islands for FIFA isn’t enough for clearing the 16 groups on Friday. We had to borrow other games’ islands to clear it. LOL

2nd day was a bit relaxing though but still we had to finish the elimination stage and leave the finals for Sunday. Everyone gets to play twice, one home(host) and one away(client) and then the total scores are added up to see who wins. Quite hectic, but still, we have some time to fool around on Saturday.

On Sunday, we were really free cause we only have the finals to play off. And we finished quite early too. So practically on Sunday, we were free to play and fool around =P But i didn’t though. I was more interested in spectating the remaining CS matches especially the 3rd place playoffs and the finals. After every game is finished, and the closing ceremony ended, we had a bit time to play games on the PCs before we have to tear everything down.

We had to finish clearing the gaming area by 12am cause the next day is Siti Nurhaliza’s wedding which is damn grand -_-” so we had to rush to pack everything back into their boxes, stack them up somewhere in less than 7 hours. We still had lots of fun clearing up though. Especially stacking up empty boxes as high as we can on the trolleys and push them from the backstage to the gaming area =P

By 11pm, the whole gaming area was clear and we were dead tired. Then the organizers treat us to supper ! It was just a normal supper at a nearby mamak so it isn’t anything special. There’s an appreciation dinner coming up in about a week or two so i’m actually looking forward to it, heheh =)

Hmmm, during the closing ceremony, when i looked at the winners going up on the stage claiming their prizes, i don’t know why but i felt a bit jealous. Especially when the winners of CS, Hybrid went up to collect their prize. Last time when i was playing CS competitively, we were aiming for the WCG although it was close to impossible for us =P But i had to stop playing due to my SPM coming up. After that, i totally lost the passion to game anymore.

Actually one of the members in Hybrid used to train with us before as a group of friends years ago. I think he forgot who am i anymore..not that i remember who he is =P I didn’t know about this until recently during the ESWC, i bumped into another friend who told me this. I was quite shocked when i heard it, hahaha. Years ago, he wasn’t that good, and years later, he’s already representing Malaysia in France for ESWC finals and now again for Malaysia in Monza, Italy for the WCG Grand Finals.

Hmmm, sometimes i really feel like playing again but at the same time i don’t think i wanna screw up my studies like i did before, hahah =P Anyway, last but not least, I DIDN’T LOSE MY WCG TAG THIS YEAR ! Bwahhahaha, cause it’s special. Wanna see? =P

FIFA Head Marshal ! Bwahhahaha =P

Nolah, it was a printing error =P and i didn’t bother to get it corrected =X. Managed to trick lots of ppl with this though. Anyway, another year has passed by so quickly and till then, see you next year, WCG 2007 !
