Another model done !

Posted in Random on July 18th, 2006

Yes, i’m done with my Skyline and all i can say is that the paintjob is really screwed up, hahahah. =P Didn’t really like it though. But nevertheless, it’s still my first time so i guess even with the screwed up paintjob it’s still acceptable =P

See the rear? Totally screwed up the paintjob there =(

Right after that i started with another new project, a Honda Fit ! I had to buy the car when i saw it on the shelf. For this, i had plans for it even before i bought the car =P I wanted a pearl white Fit with white rims. Too bad they don’t have one with bigger rims or bodykit. They just come stock =\

One thing that really got me hooked onto doing the models are the detailing that they put into it. The Fit that i bought came with one piece of “carpet” that i must cut into shape and then stick it into the cabin and rear boot space area. The amount of detailing they put into the car is really massive. Different cars have different type of detailing though.

Here are the un-cut pieces of carpet and the template they provided

This is the one AFTER cutting and fitting in =D

The painting of the interior wasn’t that nice though, but i’m sure i can improve on it when i’m doing my next one =D Still, it was noticably better than my Skyline cause i bought an even finer brush than the one i used on the Skyline.

This is the finished interior

For the exterior body colour, i was satisfied with the outcome of the pearl white. At first, it wasn’t that nice, but i tried spraying a few times more and finally got a satisfying result, but still not good enough. I need to brush up more on my spraying skills =\

Spraying the pearl white on

The finished product

Front lights all installed

Rear lights installed too !

Anyway, i see that this post is getting a little too long, hahaha. Here’s when everything’s installed

Overall, i’m really really satisfied on what i’ve done on this Honda Fit. Everything is done properly, painting and spraying isn’t that bad although there are some mistakes here and there. Yaay ! I even took 2 angle shots which i really really love. Hahah =P

Yummmyyyy =D The pearl white really stands out there.

Anyway, one sneak preview on what’s coming up next. I won’t rush on this, i’ll just take my sweet time, cause if i finish this too fast, i won’t have enough funds to buy another car till the next month. So i guess i’ll try to drag this on till next month =P It isn’t easy anyway, cause it’s not a Tamiya set. This brand is even more detailed from what i heard. Oh well, i’ll just wait till the Mega Sale is on before i get more cars =D

Tamiya Car Models

Posted in Random on July 12th, 2006

I’ve got a new addiction ! Making models of cars, well..not exactly carS but i started with a model of a Skyline i bought 2 years ago -_-” Alvin sent me pictures of his car models the other day and that really kicked me in the ass to dig up my model and start doing it. =P

null
Here’s the receipt that’s in the box that i dug out -_-” Look at the date.

It isn’t a very cheap hobby to start with, especially the paints. But as this hobby goes on, it won’t be that bad cause most of the paint will be used again in other models !

null
The amount of paint i needed, and it isn’t even complete yet -_-” They ran out of stock for some colours

I thought the body spraying would be easy but it wasn’t. I couldn’t get even layers onto it thus screwing up the paint job of the body. It’s my first work anyway and i wasn’t expecting it to be perfect =P

null
The first layer was okay though -_-”

At first, i was also expecting the other parts to be quite easy but i totally forgot about the painting part. It isn’t easy painting the parts and waiting for them to dry before installing them. But i finished the under-carriage in 2 days, which i think is quite slow =P I’m quite happy with the job though.

null
The detailing is really really good on Tamiya models.

Anyway, currently i’m done with the under-carriage already and i’m starting on the interior painting. I hope i’ll be done with this car in another 2-3 days? And i’ll start on another one. I saw a model of a Honda Fit being sold that day and i think i’ve decided to work on it next =P

Okay, as promised from Pearly’s blog :- (This is the first time i’m doing stuff like this -_-”)

see Pearly? i’m trying to update more often ! ish, shouldn’t have posted that then you won’t challenge me this =P

Finally an update ! =P

Woah, finally a decent update eh? =P Previously, the post was about the Satria Neo, and i really wanted to write a write-up about the launch and about the car including the pictures i during the launch in the Centre of Excellence but i really got lazy and i don’t think i have the time to. =P Anyway i think we finally have a first in Pro-Hatch and by first i mean a new member who drives a Satria Neo ! 3 hours after he got his car, he started posting in our forums, heheh. Now i gotta find a way to stick the Pro-Hatch sticker on his car ! =D

Anyway, i finally changed my car exhaust again ! Something funny happened this time, on the first day, my friend couldn’t find the muffler i wanted, so i had to settle for an exhaust which ends halfway, without muffler. And it was LOUD i tell you, exactly like how those track cars are like?

null
That’s how my exhaust was for one day -_-”

Then on the 2nd day, he finally found the muffler that i wanted from his friend, so although it took practically the whole day for the exhaust to be finished, i was quite happy with the job. It was still noisy though but bearable =P

And actually a few days ago, i managed to DIY some sound proofing onto my car. Not to say it made a difference significantly but it did slightly. I still think i need more stuff to work with. It wasn’t easy though. I had to strip every single panel in the car to stick underneath it. Took me close to 8 hours to finish everything, including installing all the panels back it mainly cause it was my first time stripping the car? =P

I even did the doors too and actually the door now feels more solid and heavier !

Okay enough about my car. Back to me =P I’ve been bumming around for the past 3 months as you all know cause i really didn’t know what to take, but the other day i went to a counselling centre in SS15 with my mum to get some information and also some “counselling” =P Well, she (the counsellor) recommended that i go to Australia straight which is the February intake next year in the Kangan Batman Institute of TAFE. There are other alternatives though (one to the UK, and the other to New Zealand) After listening to her, i really felt like going there but at the same time, i really don’t want to leave Malaysia. I LOVE everything about it here especially my bee, but she’s still leaving in about a year’s time though.

Another problem will be me going there alone first before meeting new friends. That’s what i really don’t like. I like the feeling of going to the airport with a bunch/few of friends and boarding the plane to the place together. That wouldn’t be so scary won’t it? I don’t have much time to think about it though. There’s nothing else for me to take over here in Malaysia, even if there is, there’s WIT, in Klang which is damn far, KLIUC in Kajang which is even worse and then College TAFE in Seremban which is EVEN worse. -_-” This leaves me with not much choice. TOC or Australia? Hate the way TOC works and hate the place, so? no prizes for guessing it right.

The thought of leaving here makes me think so much nowadays. There are so many things that i must leave behind. Sigh.

Wow.

It’s been so damn long since i last updated. Recently, i’m seriously damn lazy to update my blog anymore. So, many things to type, but i’m damn lazy. I wonder when i’ll start updating again =P
