Fuel Consumption 2

Posted in Random on November 30th, 2005

Bwahahahah, went to Nilai the other day with the guys to check out a new drag strip there and guess what i got?

Anyway, the drag strip there sucks. Maybe cause it’s still quite new and all. The good thing is they’re having free runs every day except when there are special events. RM15 a car and driver and you can test your car in that strip legally with your friends =D

On the way back, of course everyone started speeding and i’ve got a new top speed ! Quite scary though cause the highway isn’t that flat. Something happened to a member’s car halfway back so we had to stop by the roadside for quite some time, which reminded me to take a picture of the top speed =P

The RPM at around 210km/h was already at around 6500rpm which means my engine’s top speed should be around 220km/h or maybe higher? Seeing that the 7500rpm redline mark is nearing and i assume after 6000rpm the powerband starts dropping so to pick up more speed after 6000rpm is quite difficult and not to forget the wind drag caused by the speed =\

Fucking thieves

Posted in Random on November 24th, 2005

Okay, so it was another usual convoy and mamak session for the Pro-Hatchers yesterday night at Damansara Perdana. Everyone was drinking, eating and chit chatting in their own groups like usual. Then there are the few who jumps around from group to group to see what everyone is up to. Then when it was getting a bit late, most of the ppl starts standing up and walks towards to every member’s cars to admire them. Some new members would be sticking their Pro-Hatch stickers.

After maybe 30 minutes to 1 hour of mingling around the cars, some members would start their cars and go home cause they have to work the next day. As members start to leave one by one, Andrew got a call from a member, telling him that nearby, he saw a group of ppl breaking a Proton Wira’s passenger side window. Instantly, Andrew started his car and went over, but before he started his car, he spread the news to another member, and another. In a timespan of one minute, everyone went into their cars and sped over to the scene to try to catch the thieves red handed. I, of course followed them and i was the last car behind all of them.

About 30 seconds later, we reached there and we see that the lone Proton Wira was left there window-less, and no one was there anymore. Talk about a quick getaway. Anyway, all of us went back to the mamak later and stayed there for a few minutes more and eventually all of us left for home.

A DAMN good chance to catch the thieves red handed and give them a deserved whacking wasted. Damn.

Fuel Consumption

Posted in Random on November 19th, 2005

I’ve told quite a lot of ppl about my car’s fuel consumption before but everyone doubts if i’m telling the truth. Anyway, yesterday night i finally had the chance to take a picture of my fuel consumption of my car. I have a habit of resetting the mileage meter everytime i refuel my car and i can assure you that the picture i took is original and not modified in any way. Keep in mind that i’m driving a 1.8 litre turbocharged engine in a Proton Satria. Oh, and not to forget, this mileage i got is for mixed style of driving. (highway driving, city driving, stuck in a traffic jam, boosting etc. etc.)

Normally, everytime i refuel my car, i would fill in RM60 worth of petrol and that gives me about 37 litres of petrol? And in the picture below, i got 460kms for that tank and the fuel warning indicator hasn’t even lighted up yet unless, of course, i go up a very steep hill. =)

New Exhaust System

Posted in Random on November 15th, 2005

On Saturday, i just had my new exhaust system done for my car. Actually i’ve been waiting to do it even before the Raya holidays but i there wasn’t enough time and i forgot why, heheh. Anyway, i’m quite satisfied with it now but the piping is a bit too low and everytime my car goes over a bump, the exhaust piping scrapes the ground =( Gotta set my adjustables higher when i have the time.

Okay, pics time !

Clockwise from top left : The exhaust piping which goes under the fuel tank. My muffler positioned and welded onto the pipe. Then thermal wrap the exhaust piping beneath the fuel tank so the heat from the exhaust won’t really affect the fuel tank.

Clockwise from top left : My muffler positioned onto the car. Another view. The guy welding the joints of the muffler and the exhaust piping. Dumb dumb friends who put the exhaust silencer the opposite way and took a photo of it -_-”

Final result ! =)

Overall, i’m very satisfied with the work done. I could feel that my car jerks less and the revs climb up smoother thanks to the uninterrupted flow of the exhaust system. The boost even kicks in faster ! Sitting in the car, i noticed the exhaust is a bit louder and a lot bassier than my previous setup. Satisfaction =D

Stuck in the parking lot?

Posted in Random on November 8th, 2005

Hmmm, i was at 1U a while ago and when i found a parking spot, i saw this Proton Wira parked in a very strange spot. Then when i looked around the car and started wondering. How the hell is he gonna get out of his parking spot by parking in a space like that? Unless he’s planning to stay there until everyone goes home? LOL.

Selamat Hari Raya?

Posted in Random on November 5th, 2005

Errrr, Selamat Hari Raya to all of you? Hahahah. Not that i celebrate it anyway, but to think that everyone going back to their hometowns and leaving the highways here practically empty brings a smile to everyone’s face in KL i bet.

Buttttttttttttttttttttt, guess what? the roads ain’t that empty after all. There are still quite a number of cars on the road for the past few days. Not so fun after all. =( Tomorrow or Sunday, everyone’s gonna be back and the roads will be jammed up again, sigh.

Not to forget, that today, 1 Utama is fucking jam packed ! >_< OMG, and i thought everyone went back to their hometowns. -_-”
